HotPools is a unique technology that allows a number of separate Air-Frame 100 products and their wireless channels to be combined to form a single, high speed communications 'link'.
Host systems see a single Default Gateway with one Air-Frame acting as the LINK MASTER. The LINK MASTER dynamically finds and uses the total available bandwidth (the sum of all the wireless channels) in the 'Pool'.
HotPools uses a sophisticated distributed resource management protocol which automatically finds all the Air-Frame routers in the same pool and then utilizes the available bandwidth with optimum efficiency.
Configuration of a HotPool requires a single parameter defining the unique pool number to which the Router will be assigned. To maximize throughput each router in a HotPool is allocated a unique Cell number (or hopping pattern). Any number of Pools may co-exist at a given location.
A maximum of 4 Air-Frame routers may be combined to create a single link providing a total available bandwidth of 4.8M (without compression) and over 8M with optional compression.
HotPools may be configured in 'Duplex' mode in which 2 or 4 Air-Frame Routers are combined one (pair) of which is dedicated to Transmit the other (pair) to Receive. This minimizes turnaround time for delay sensitive applications such as Video or Audio conferencing.
