'Smart-Bridge' Technology

Classic LAN 'bridges' simply copy all packets on the local network to the remote network. This is very wasteful of finite bandwidth especially in wireless networks.

'Smart-bridge' technology works to minimize the packet load in point to point and point to multi-point configurations. The Air-Frame automatically learns the topology of the local and remote LAN network (by examining the MAC header) and only transmits frames over the wireless connection when they are:

1. For a destination KNOWN to be on the remote network.
2. All broadcast frames.
3. All multicast frames.

Using 'Smart-bridge' technology ensures that scarce wireless bandwidth is used for its real purpose - to maximize your throughput and response times.
