Air-Frame-10.2

Air-Frame-10.2 is a high performance wireless LAN bridge that provides rugged and reliable performance over distance and requires no user configuration.

Air-Frame-10.2 is a 'Plug and Forget' Wireless LAN bridge. It is designed for users who want reliable and dependable Wireless LAN connections without the complexity normally associated with wireless equipment.

Air-Frame-10.2 requires no configuration. Simply plug in a few cables, power the unit and it is operational.

Air-Frame-10.2 is a LAN bridge which ensures maximum transparency to the LAN protocol being used. It will support TCP/IP, IPX, SPX, AppleTalk and DECNET (or ANY other LAN protocol) without any user intervention.  Steam Packet Radio uses 'Smart-Bridge' technology to minimize unnecessary transmission of data in a bridged LAN environment. Ensuring that your LAN applications work in an optimum fashion.

The Air-Frame-10.2 radio system uses the license-free 2.4GHz ISM (Industrial, Scientific and Medical) band and Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) technology to maximize both the density of systems in a given area (or cell) and the reliability of communication by using the most interference-resistant radio technology available.

Air-Frame-10.2 provides wireless LAN communication at 1.2M bit/s. This is marginally faster and infinitely more flexible than an ADSL modem solution. With the addition of the optional compression enhancement throughput will increase between 2 and 4 times depending on the mix of traffic being handled.

In the design of the Air-Frame-10.2 Steam Packet Radio has deliberately sacrificed raw performance for reliability over extended distances of 1 to 20 Km (.5 to 15 miles) without requiring user intervention and configuration of radio parameters.

The rugged construction of the Air-Frame-10.2 and its operating temperature range (0 - 70 C) make it ideally suited for a wide range of applications including Internet Access and Telemetry.

Air-Frame-10.2 supports both point to point and point to multipoint configurations.

The standard Air-Frame-10.2 product natively supports point to multipoint configurations using a dynamic peering protocol. Conceptually a point to point network is treated as a multipoint configuration with only one peer. Creating a multipoint configuration is simply a question of adding more products to the network.

Air-Frame-10.1 supports 10baseT (10 M bit/s) Ethernet LAN - still the lowest cost and most widely deployed LAN technology especially in hostile or sensitive environments. Air-Frame may be used in conjunction with either a Hub (or Switch) or, using a crossed LAN cable, without a Hub (or switch).
